I got my first job last November at Rite Aid. I work as a cashier, stocker, and do a lot of customer service. I work about two or so days a week. I learned a lot of business skills at Rite Aid. I learned how to use a cash register, other types of tools and equipment that I never used before, and how to interact with people.

In January I completed my fire class and passed the certification test. I’m proud of myself because i had a really difficult time in the beginning of the class but I pushed my way through it and ended up passing the state test. I really had a growth mindset because it was more of a mental barrier as to why I didn’t do so well at first. After I convinced myself I could do it, I did.

Skills USAI was apart of a team for Skills USA for crime scene investigation. During the competition we had to process the evidence, take fingerprints, and do all of the necessary paperwork. At regionals, we placed gold. Skills USA was a great opportunity for us and we learned a lot from going through the competition.
